Choices play a big part in this new Assassin’s Creed game. Multiple choices leads to branching story paths and ultimately leads to different endings. Note that different endings doesn’t necessarily means “good” or “bad” endings. You will carve your own Spartan story throughout the way with multiple choices. Assassin’s Creed goes full RPG with Odyssey this year.
Your decisions shape the world around you with over 30 hours of choice dialogue and multiple game endings. Experience a living, dynamic world that constantly evolves and reacts to your every decision.
Players can now choose to lie and deceive their enemies or even allies to lead into different outcomes that also includes romancing NPCs.
Ships make their return with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and so does the Ship Battles but we have yet to know how the battles will play. But we can assume it won’t be as deep as in Skull and Bones. It will be a bit better than what Black Flag offered us. With that being said, sea exploration is also a part in this new game.
Find uncharted locations, uncover hidden treasures, or fight your way through entire fleets in naval battles. Customize the look of your ship, upgrade weaponry to suit your strengths, and recruit crewmembers with unique perks, tailoring naval combat to your style.
Inventory system gives a deeper experience this time with different weapons, armors and stat boosts for different play styles. For example, certain equipments maybe better suited for more damage while the other better suited for more defense. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey tells you how well you are balanced overall like in damage, defense, stealth etc. In terms of combat, it is largely the same as in Origins.
In the end Assassin’s Creed Odyssey doesn’t really feel like an Assassin’s Creed game. Why ? Whether you play as either character, there’s no hidden blade, robes etc.. Assassinations have little to no meaning in this game as players go full Spartan on their enemies. It barely feels like an Assassin’s Creed game. Watch the full gameplay walkthrough below :-
