The PS4 exclusive Yakuza game series finally made it to the PC platform with the release of Yakuza 0 on Steam. SEGA plans to expand the Yakuza series to the PC platform with the release of Yakuza 6 PC version. An open world game that focuses deeply into its characters and story telling is something that PC gamers always wanted apart from the similar titles like Grand Theft Auto.
Yakuza series are often compared to games like GTA considering the open world that it offers. But its open world narrows down and is not as large as GTA. The part where the game really stands out is the story telling where the game really focuses on its characters combined with some excellent voice acting (japanese). The action gameplay part sees the lead character street fighting with environmental attacks that can lead to gruesome scenes so its mostly about close combat. Not too long after the Yakuza 0 PC version, SEGA revealed its future plans for its best selling action-crime franchise. SEGA plans to push out the Yakuza 6 PC version before the end of 2018. This expands the whole audience base for the Yakuza series as the series was PS4 exclusive all this time.
At this point its safe to say that SEGA is fully embracing the PC platform as one of the major platform for their games following the recent PC releases like Bayonetta and Vanquish.
SEGA is currently remaking the older Yakuza titles from the PS3 era to push them into the next gen consoles and have already remade the original game as Yakuza Kiwami. Hopefully we will get to see Yakuza 6 PC version by the end of 2018.
